First order of business is to issue a hearty “Thanks” to Allen Lawless, our Secretary, in getting our long suffering web site relocated and online. Yeah, I realize it is still a work in progress but ultimately believe it will be a place you will want to visit often.
I don’t know that I’ve ever used an avatar as a profile photo, but made an exception just this once. What you see is a mannequin that stands behind me in my office. He is a project I’ve been working on for nearly two years. Notice too that he is a DDR Grenztruppen soldier (East Berlin border guard). He doesn’t yet have a name, but I will entertain suggestions. My intention is to have him accompany me to Columbus for our reunion in May. Maybe ride shotgun, which would let me take the HOV lane through Atlanta.
2019 Membership renewal officially kicked off during the reunion in Berlin, and continues with increasing activity in the past three months. I will keep you updated here on the numbers, and other Membership information.
In conclusion, for this time, I will say that I am proud to be a member among all you great men and women that populate our Berlin U.S. Military Veterans Association. As you become familiar and at ease with using the web page and it’s forums, be courteous.
