Terrible weather conditions in the USA over night. Floods; storms; rain; heat.  I live in NJ and thank God we had not problems where I live. My sister resides in Manasquan lost power; still nothing  as of now. Anyone remember bad weather conditions in W. Berlin during our tour of duty. The only thing I remember is the COLD in the winter!!!

Ed, Was in Berlin Aug. 66 to Feb. 69. Cannot remember any real bad weather and when I left in Feb. no snow on the ground and not that cold. Live in Illinois west of Chicago and had some power outages on Sat. We did not loose any power but homes across the alley did along with businesses some blocks away. And yes the heat and humidity high. A couple weeks ago a 20 lady working for school district was in one of the schools cleaning  along with a few other people, temp. 103, and fainted and hit her head and passed on, what a tragedy.

I do remember on the Berlin duty train between W. Berlin and Frankfurt;  For some reason the train stopped; the E. German locomotive left us!!! I don’t remember how long we were without heat. I guess the E. Germans and Soviets were screwing with us. The event happened in the winter. But we survived like we also did. . I guess we won theCOLD WAR.

Remember going to Wildflecken for two weeks. Always remember a MP there I went through AIT with and he told me how he wished he would of been sent to Berlin .  I could see why.
