Upcoming Elections in 2019
Saturday January 26, 2019
BUSMVA Members please note the following important information:
- Joe Morrison, Director of Sales and an institution within BUSMVA, announced that he will not seek reelection as your Sales Director. This presents an opportunity for another BUSMVA member to seek that office. Joe stated in an email to the BUSMVA Board that he will handle Sales at the May reunion in Columbus, but that afterwards he would turn over all inventory to the new Sales Director. We wish Joe well as he takes on new challenges. Thanks, Joe, for your long and faithful service to BUSMVA!
- Berry Williams, Reunion Director, also announced that he will not seek reelection as your Reunion Director. He cited the need to be more involved with his family and guests on reunions and wasn’t able to spend the time he would like with them, especially at the Berlin Reunions. Berry has been exceptionally detail oriented, approachable and easy to work with. We also appreciate Berry’s service within BUSMVA and look forward to his continued membership.
No other announcements have been made.
In addition to the two Directorships to be vacated by Joe and Berry, the offices of BUSMVA President and BUSMVA Membership Director are open for candidates. Per the December 2018 newsletter announcement, Absentee ballots will be provided to BUSMVA members by April 1, 2019. BUSMVA members interested in campaigning for any of the above-cited offices should submit their notice of candidacy to the BUSMVA Secretary by March 15, 2019.
Berry Williams pointed out an inconsistency between the above announcement and page 9 from the December 2018 newsletter. The newsletter states that a “signed” application to the Secretary is needed. There is no need for a hard copy signature. Just an email to the Secretary – secretary@berlinveterans.com – is all that’s needed for those who are considering running for the offices mentioned above. Thanks, Berry, for the opportunity to clarify.
Another development from Berry Williams, BUSMVA Reunion Director. He has reconsidered his earlier decision not to run for reelection and has submitted his intention to campaign for reelection. This is very generous of Berry and while BUSMVA has talent within the ranks, Berry’s continued service to BUSMVA is certainly appreciated — assuming he is reelected, of course. Thanks, Berry, for reconsidering and we wish you the best in your campaign!
