GOD bless all of our brothers and sisters that gave their ALL.  I remember you and shed a tear for you.

    YOU ARE MY HERO!

FROM THE CITIZEN SOLDIERS THAT DEFENDED CONCORD AND LEXINGTON

    TO THE DEFENDERS OF WASHINGTON

TO THE BROTHERS THAT WORE BLUE OR GRAY

    YOU ARE MY HERO!

FROM THE DOUGHBOYS ON FLANDERS FIELD

TO THE SOLDIERS, SAILORS AND MARINES OF EUROPE AND THE PACIFIC

TO THE PEACE KEEPERS OF THE KOREAN PENINSULA

    YOU ARE MY HERO!

TO THOSE THAT ENDURED BEHIND THE IRON CURTAIN TO KEEP A CITY

AND PEOPLE FREE FROM COMMUNISM AND OPPRESION

    YOU ARE MY HERO!

EVEN THOUGH YOU NO LONGER SLOG THROUGH THE RICE PADDIES OF VIETNAM,

OR CLIMB THROUGH THE MOUNTAINS OF AFGANISTAN,

OR SURVIVE THE SAND STORMS OF IRAQ,

    YOU ARE MY HERO!

FROM THE STIFLING HEAT AND HUMIDITY OF VIETNAM

TO THE FREEZING TEMPURATURES OF AFGANISTAN

YOU HAVE WALKED THAT MILE IN MY BOOTS AND THEREBY HAVE EARNED MY GRATITUDE AND RESPECT

    AND

    YOU ARE MY HERO!

GOD bless all of our troops and GOD bless America.

My first Memorial Day in W. Germany before going to W. Berlin. Was a member of the railway MP’s- 570th MP Co.; unit was in Frankfurt A/M.  We rode DB trains looking for GI’; AWOL; or  whatever. . My first train ride was to Augsburg, W. Germany and back. My  partner was Sgt. Crowe. God bless him. He was wounded in Korea; lost sight in one eye. But would follow him into battle. We didn’t find any GI’s on the trains.  I wonder whatever happened to Sgt. Crowe. Any member know or remember him?  After returning to Frankfurt; was shipped  to W. Berlin Unit (570th MP Co). The rest  is history. Anyhow hope all enjoyed Memorial Day.
