Manny EnglishParticipant
In that little is being discussed, perhaps a review of this book may give all of us something to think about and then discuss. Please check on Amazon books:
An Imaginative Existence: A Provocative Essay on Causation, Manifestation, and Finality of Being – Kindle and Paperback at Amazon Books
There can be no more important inquiry than the one that begins quite simply: Why do we exist? In his thoughtful and thought-provoking deliberation on this age-old question, Dr. Manuel English reflects on the nature, causation and finality of existence, the role of God and mind in this magnificent phenomenon and the distinctions to be made between being and becoming, and between matter and mind. Using metaphysical-philosophical, cosmological, and ontological tenets, an introspective analysis is offered providing insightful answers to these mega-questions. Eschewing the narrow focus and abstruse rhetoric which causes so many readers to shun modern philosophy, Dr. English’s work is striking in its concern for genuine insight and independent, original thought. His reflective commentary and conclusions are dynamic and exciting, challenging the conventional ontological landscape while offering a new paradigm of how we should think about our existence. It’s destined to become a classic.

Manny EnglishParticipantPerhaps my poem can stimulate some discussion as its subject is becoming more relevant when viewing the latest news:
Remembering a Native Texan
“You’ve gone first leaving us so much alone.
We’ll have to be content with happy days we’ve known.
This spring will surely bring more bonnets blue,
in early fall when live oak leaves fall, we’ll think of you.
You’ve gone first while we stay for battles to be fought.
The pride and honor you taught us will be our deepest thought.
We’ll often think of you as we smile through falling tears.
Your memory will carry us onward through the coming years.
You’ve gone first leaving a pathway for our dignity and hope.
Look down from Heaven and help us as we try to cope.
Existing without you now seems forlorn with painful regrets
as you dwell in paradise watching our beautiful Texas sunsets.
You’ve gone first and left your dream of Texans freedom’s joy.
The memory of you is one thing that death will not destroy.
Our weeping, sad eyes gaze upward waiting for your nod
to have Texas a free nation under the principles of God.”
